Title: Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer

Location: Plymouth, MN

Duration: 12 Months

100% On-Site

Shift Time: 8:30am to 5:30pm

Job Summary:

The Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer works closely with cross-functional Value Stream teams to design, develop, standardize, and implement Operational Excellence methods aimed at continuously improving manufacturing system performance. This role requires a strong influencer and facilitator with a proven track record of managing change.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in identification and planning of department goals and budgets, and support initiatives intended to improve quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Support productivity, quality, process efficiency, space utilization, standardization, and lead time improvement efforts with Value Stream teams.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC problem-solving initiatives.
  • Drive incorporation of Lean tools such as 5S, time study, line balancing, standard work, material flow, and value stream mapping.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide input into departmental budgeting processes as required.
  • May supervise and provide work direction to engineers and technicians.
  • Support company initiatives and ensure compliance with QMS, EMS, FDA regulations, company policies, and operating procedures.
  • Maintain positive communication with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education:

  • BS in Industrial Engineering or related field or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience; medical device experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in team settings.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Certification preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and follow-up skills with attention to detail.

Travel Requirement: Ability to travel approximately 15–30%, including internationally.
