What You’ll Do

Process/Quality Engineering Support:

  • Provide Process/Quality Engineering support to manufacturing to ensure the highest quality product is delivered to customers.
  • Support product development teams to help ensure the highest quality in new product development.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn to identify manufacturing process defects (scrap, nonconforming material, customer complaints) by dispositioning non-conforming material, assisting in root cause identification, and understanding corrective and preventative actions.
  • May work with process owners to bound product stops and document release criteria.
  • Gain understanding of product quality plans, documentation, and systems by reviewing product and quality specifications, and working within quality systems.
  • Learn process monitoring systems through familiarization with system applications and critical process steps, including methods to reduce process variation.
  • Become familiar with product and process improvement efforts by analyzing current quality metric data and understanding analysis methods for enhancing both sustaining and new product development.
  • Learn quality tools and training materials by reviewing and utilizing available resources.
  • Begin developing a network of internal resources to facilitate task completion.
  • Complete daily work to meet established schedules, with guidance from a supervisor on task prioritization.
  • May exercise authority within pre-established limits and with necessary approvals.
  • Failure to achieve results can typically be managed without serious impact on schedules or programs.
  • May be responsible for learning and supporting risk analyses and FMEAs.

Influence / Leadership:

  • Begin developing internal networks.
  • Influence is typically at the peer level.

Planning / Organization:

  • Completes daily work as scheduled with supervisor guidance.

Decision Making / Impact:

  • Exercises limited authority within pre-established boundaries.
  • Minimal impact expected from failure to achieve results.

Education and Experience You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 2–5 years of related work experience with a basic understanding of the functional area.
  • Basic technical knowledge of related concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Limited understanding of the business unit or group function.
  • Will perform job duties within a quality system environment; failure to perform adequately can lead to noncompliance with governmental regulations.
  • Learns to use professional concepts and company policies/procedures to solve routine problems.
  • Works on problems of limited scope with minimal independent decision-making.
