About: Abbott Point of Care Diagnostics is seeking a motivated Global Product Manager to support upstream and downstream marketing activities across product lines. This role involves assisting in strategic planning, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the successful development, launch, and promotion of medical devices.
Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. Degree in business, life sciences, engineering, or related technical discipline
- 2-4 years of experience in healthcare marketing and/or product management
- Possess strong project management skills, with proven ability to clearly define objectives, priorities, develop project plans, and manage to deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (including presentation and listening skills with senior level staff).
- Demonstrated track record of success in portfolio management, product launches, and commercialization.
- Demonstrated ability to market highly technical science.
- Initiative and self-motivation; strong work ethic; leadership and team orientation; strong proactive interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with others; ability to work in a matrixed environment, strong cross-functional management by influence.
Preferred:
- Understanding of laboratory or diagnostic business.
- Technical content experience in diagnostics, IVD, or medical devices, highly preferred.
- Global experience, highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Assist in developing and executing marketing plans and activities for specific projects and product lines to establish, enhance, or distinguish placement within a competitive market. This includes tactics, tools, campaigns, basic messaging, and positioning.
- Support the creation of business plans and product positioning strategies in the marketplace.
- Proactively conduct market research, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs.
Global Marketing Activities:
- Support global marketing activities associated with i-STAT.
- Assist in establishing marketing strategies for the i-STAT portfolio including advertising/promotions, pricing strategy, product development, tactical plan development, and execution.
- Help identify key segment business drivers, priorities, and growth opportunities.
- Assist in developing and executing internal and external product education, publication plans, and promotional activities to effectively communicate the strategic positioning of our products to customers.
- Monitor global emerging technologies and competitive activities.
- Assist in planning and executing product lifecycle management from product introduction to discontinuation including development of messaging and communication strategy.
- Build strong working relationships with regional commercial and cross-functional teams including Labeling & Packaging, Medical Affairs, R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Demand & Supply Planning, Finance, and Operations.
- Comply with established design control policies and procedures.
- Support the creation and approval of elements of Design Control including but not limited to: Planning, Input, Output, Reviews, Verification, Validation, Transfer, Change Control and Design History File.
- Support the maintenance of detailed program plans.
- Organize and actively participates in design reviews and program phase change reviews.
