Job Summary:
Perform testing and evaluation of medical devices in a laboratory environment, including mechanical, electrical, conditioning, length, OD, and visual testing. Support engineering teams by executing test protocols, documenting results, and communicating observations. This is a 100% on-site, temp-to-hire position with approximately 85% lab work and 15% desk work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical, electrical, conditioning, length, OD, and visual testing on medical devices.
- Follow detailed written and verbal instructions and test procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Analyze test data and assist in preparing reports and studies for engineering and scientific teams.
- Communicate test results, observations, and findings clearly with engineers.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use appropriate safety equipment.
- Operate laboratory tools and equipment including calipers, MTS, multimeters, digital thermometers, force gauges, Cognex, LabView, and hand tools.
- Perform qualitative and/or quantitative laboratory methods as required.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 1 to 4 years of relevant experience or post-secondary education.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Stable work history demonstrating reliability and commitment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree (AA) or other post-secondary education.
- Experience with medical device testing or product assembly.
- Experience in an R&D, laboratory, or product testing environment.
- Experience drafting or maintaining technical documentation.
- Career progression or transferable skills related to testing, assembly, manufacturing, or mechanical work.
- Demonstrated interest in long-term growth within a medical device testing environment.
- Examples of relevant backgrounds include medical device assembly, mechanical technician, mechanic, or R&D engineering technician experience.
