Title: Supplier Development Quality Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA 30313
Duration: 12 Months | 100% Onsite
Position Summary
The Supplier Development Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving improvements and corrective actions related to the quality of components sourced from external suppliers. This role includes providing technical support in supplier selection, developing acceptance criteria, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure compliance with corporate and divisional standards.
The ideal candidate will have an engineering background (preferably Mechanical) and 3–6 years of relevant experience, including at least one year in supplier quality engineering. Local candidates are preferred, though relocation at the candidate’s own expense may be considered if relocation can be completed quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess potential new suppliers for technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Provide technical support for the introduction of new components and suppliers.
- Generate and maintain incoming inspection procedures; train inspectors as needed.
- Develop or source inspection tools and equipment.
- Assist in creating component specifications and qualification protocols.
- Generate test protocols, monitor testing, and prepare qualification test reports.
- Analyze incoming material defects, determine disposition, and drive corrective actions.
- Communicate quality issues and improvement plans to suppliers.
- Review new design specifications and provide input on quality and manufacturability.
- Investigate supplier-related field failures and develop corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedures.
- May lead moderate-scope projects and provide guidance to junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred; other disciplines considered).
- 3–6 years of relevant industry experience, including a minimum of 1 year in supplier quality engineering.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier management, and quality control principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a regulated quality system environment.
