Title: Engineer Sr, Manufacturing
Location: St. Paul, MN
Duration: 12 Month Assignment on W2 (100% Onsite)
Job Summary:
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for independently or leading a project team to identify, scope, plan, and execute medium-sized projects within the manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong understanding of business needs, customer requirements, and emerging technological trends. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, while effectively managing risks and optimizing resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently or lead a project team to identify, scope, plan, and execute medium-sized projects. Communicate project progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner.
- Understand the business needs and have a thorough knowledge of the customer when developing a project scope. Incorporate business foresight of emerging technological trends.
- Lead the development of the Project Charter and document the initial requirements that satisfy stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Establish engineering project objectives and technical criteria for evaluating project results and activities of the project team.
- Monitor and control project work to meet performance objectives defined in the project plan. Focus on cost and milestone achievement to optimize resource utilization.
- Identify areas of risk and mitigate risks through early risk assessments and implementation of fallback/mitigation strategies.
- Identify, develop, and gather resources to complete the project, including developing project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.
- Use established Project Management tools and techniques to stay within authorized budget limits and achieve overall project and organizational objectives.
- Direct the work of project team members, set goals and objectives, and monitor progress on tasks. May have direct reports.
- Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.
- Set priorities, allocate tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
- Perform financial analysis to evaluate savings potential, track performance, and inform decision-making.
- Prepare reports, publish, and make presentations to communicate findings.
- Develop qualitative insights from reports to inform business decisions.
