Title: Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

Location: Abbott Park, Illinois (100% On-Site)

Duration: 2.5 Month (Till end of September)

Shift: 8:30AM - 5PM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to support financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and internal control activities for an Abbott location. The ideal candidate will play a key role in month-end variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial decision support while partnering closely with business stakeholders and laboratory management.

This role requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly financial planning, forecasting, and reporting activities
  • Perform variance analysis by comparing actual results against forecasts and budgets
  • Support month-end close and financial reporting processes
  • Partner with business stakeholders to provide financial insights and decision support
  • Develop and maintain accounting and financial internal controls
  • Prepare consolidated financial analysis and ad hoc reports for management
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities
  • Utilize Excel and system-based tools/queries for data extraction and analysis
  • Ensure financial processes and reporting procedures are efficient and effective

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in:
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Forecasting & budgeting
  • Variance reporting and financial analysis
  • Management accounting and/or audit
  • Strong experience with:
  • Actual vs Forecast reporting
  • Month-end financial analysis
  • Business partnering
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Experience working with system-based query tools (SQL/S-based tools preferred; teachable)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to interact across multiple levels and functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in finance or accounting within a high-volume clinical service laboratory environment is preferred, but not mandatory
