Our Abbott Park, Illinois location currently has an opportunity for a BHR Manager. The BHR Manager executes the delivery of the employee relations services to provide a single point of contact for efficiently providing highly accessible expert employee relations interface across multiple businesses and/or countries. Is responsible for proactive and responsive approaches to employee relations issues that support a positive environment. Ensures compliance with all relevant country laws, regulations, policies, and practices.

Responsibilities:
- Provides expert consultative and problem-solving services to managers, employees and other HR functions regarding HR policies and practices.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant country laws, regulations, policies and practices.
- Leads investigations into employee relations issues.
- Effectively and accurately maintains confidential ER data in both system and paper files.
- Ensures professional service is provided at all times in accordance with the ER Service Level Agreement.
- Defines, leads and/or manager ER projects.
- May supervise salaried and/or hourly personnel in the organization.
- Creates and provides ER related training to the business.
- Independently resolves all cases, elevating only most complex situations to manager for review.
- Broad operating latitude.
- Knowledge must address diverse and difficult problems or situations across multiple businesses and/or countries.
- Considered the subject matter expert on a broad range of ER policies and practices.
- Anticipates, identifies, and meets internal and external customer needs/expectations Effectively communicates and negotiates with customers to define service levels.
- Manages expectations and delivers results.
- Brings credibility and in-depth knowledge of options.
- Meets defined ER service level agreement.
- Works closely with customer to jointly design solutions, balancing business, employee, and legal needs.
- Identifies critical factors in a particular situation, identifies alternate cause of action and makes recommendations based upon all available facts.
- Takes a broad view of the problem looking at all alternatives and impact to the organization as well as enterprise before applying solution.
- Within scope of responsibility, grasps complexities and perceives relationships among problems or issues.
- Defines, plans and organizes projects to achieve favorable outcomes Proficient in application of common tools for managing project scope, cost schedule and resources Ability to identify and manage risk, have contingency plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Employee Relations or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Employee Relations or other Abbott HR experience.
- Expertise in HR regulations, policies and procedures.
