Sr. Procurement Specialist

Our Abbott Park, Illinois location currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Procurement Specialist. The Senior Specialist applies experience and procurement knowledge to execute procurement best practices and supply management strategies across Global Procurement Services. Work with customers, internal and external, and the Divisions to solve issues and drive high levels of customer service. This role will work across multiple verticals. The position will be responsible for driving business excellence through strategy, people and technologies with the various categories and divisions.

Duration: 3 Months

Responsibilities:

• Proactively seek innovative ways to improve the procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels.
• Full understanding of the "One Procurement" strategies. Strong knowledge and project work across multiple categories that impact the team positively.
• Works within defined processes and procedures and may help determine appropriate approaches for change.
• Enable supplier integration and KPI's. Drive value and lead savings outcomes. Collaboration with functions. Develops bids and proposal formats.
•  Lead complex RFPs as well as lead small projects. Provides advice/direction in primary areas of expertise. 
• Communicate and educate appropriate departments to provide appropriate supporting documentation for purchases.
• Develop and leads agreed purchasing strategies for category. Seek, develop and establish business relationships with diverse suppliers.

• Strong contracting skills, including reviewing and redlining contracts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Financial or equivalent experience. 
• CPM certification desired.
• Minimum of 2+ years in procurement, requiring strong contracting expertise, ideally with a background in marketing procurement.
