Title: Lab Tech Jr.

Location: 1111 Newton Street, Gretna, LA 70053

Duration: 6 Months Assignment with possibility of extension or conversion

100% Onsite

Shift: Monday - Friday 3 PM - 11:30 PM

Position Summary

The Lab Technician Jr. role is within the Toxicology Division. This position involves operating laboratory instruments to perform initial analysis on urine and oral fluid specimens for substances of abuse, following SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and other regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain screening instruments
• Perform initial review of test results for donor specimens and QC samples
• Conduct testing using refractometers and pH meters
• Apply screening and specimen validity test methods (EIA, CEDIA, ELISA)
• Troubleshoot screening instrument issues
• Ensure confidentiality of donor information by following security procedures
• Adhere to company policies and employee handbook guidelines

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Chemistry or Biology

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of analytical techniques and laboratory procedures
• Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation
• Familiarity with certification requirements (SAMHSA, CAP-FDT, and other regulatory bodies)
• Understanding of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and related software
