Title: Contract Administrator - B

Location: Lake Forest, Illinois (100% Onsite)

Duration: 5 months on W2

Shift Time: 8:30 AM -5PM

Job Description:

  • Work closely with the Government C&P Contract Management Representative (“CMR”) Manager to oversee all Government contracts (Federal Government: Veteran Affairs Hospitals (VA’s), Department of Defense, Indian Health) as well as State Public Health
  • Will also interact with the Government Director and Government EAM’s to execute on primary business goals
  • Solve for customer billing issues
  • Perform individual Customer analytics on sales data compared to Contract documentation
  • Translate terms and conditions into actionable items for contract implementation so that the C&P Implementation team, Instrument Shipment team and Field Service organization understand what needs to be done
  • Execute Contract Life Cycle Management Activities
  • Key operating systems used: Excel, Model N Contracting System, Cognos reports, Symphony (SAP), Smartsheet, DocuSign, CMS Next

Responsibilities:

  • Once there is an executed contract, manage the Contract Implementation Process and Contract Lifecycle activities, which include:
  • Conduct Contract and Pricing (C&P) Contract analysis (review of new contract terms and pricing, etc.) in order to be able to create a comprehensive New Contract Workbook for the government team (for informational purposes) as well as the Contract Implementation team (to ensure they understand what they need to load in our contracting system over the contracted term)
  • Coordinate shipping and billing of all Abbott and third-party products necessary to support the contract award
  • Execute Contract Lifecycle Management Activities, including, but not limited to:
  • Contract Amendments to adjust products, prices or other contract terms and conditions
  • Review and coordinate execution of various government modifications
  • Save executed paperwork in Model N for record keeping purposes
  • Perform analysis of what credits (and/or rebills) are necessary, submit credit request and support in SAP for processing
  • Consult with C&P Strategic Pricing Managers (“SPM”) as needed on pricing questions and liaison with Finance to communicate impacts on monthly/quarterly/annual financials
  • Manage End-of-Term contract activities:
  • Expirations (manage contract extensions so pricing doesn’t fall out of the contracting system)
  • De-obligation activities
  • Contract Compliance/Burn Rate analyses (comparison of Customer purchases to their level of funding outlined in the contract): Coordinate with Field Sales related to outcomes

Accountability / Scope:

  • This role is relied upon heavily to provide expertise on anything related to each Customer’s contract and pricing
  • Responsible for timely and accurate loading of contracted items that have financial impact
  • Contract compliance projects
  • Performs analysis of contract aging/expirations
  • Maintain and create C&P operating procedures as deemed necessary and identify where processes / tasks can be automated, etc. 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • 4-yr degree in Business, or Finance discipline bachelor’s degree or related required. 
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in at least one of the following areas is preferred: Government Contracting/Pricing, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing (administration or operations), Accounting or Commercial Finance, preferably in healthcare.
