Title: Sr. UX UI Designer

Location: Alameda CA

Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of Conversion)

Job Summary:

As a UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in transforming designs into technical products, including templates and themes, for various mobile and web applications. This role demands exceptional production skills in layout, typography, and color, along with a sharp eye for detail to identify and correct inconsistencies. Additionally, you should possess expertise in developing complex workflows.

Top Skills:

  • Interaction Design: Analyze business requirements and user needs to create user flows and task flow diagrams. Translate your ideas into wireframes and prototypes for stakeholder and user feedback.
  • Visual Design: Create beautiful mock-ups of visual designs consistent with UI guidelines and Abbott’s brand standards.
  • Design System: Utilize the company’s design system to create new templates and user flows, working closely with the engineering team.
  • Collaboration: Closely work with product managers and user researchers to understand customer needs and make informed design decisions. Negotiate technical feasibility of your designs with engineering and support agile teams in developing high-quality user interfaces.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Experience building production ready screens for Android and iOS devices in Figma
  • Experience building, using, maintaining, and advocating for design systems.
  • Experience designing enterprise SaaS products.
  • Proficiency with standard design, prototyping and productivity tools, including Figma, Jira and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A clear understanding of what constitutes superior design and the drive to continually elevate standards.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing, prototyping and launching exceptional end-to-end experiences.
  • Ability to distill complex information and requirements into simple flows.
  • Sound knowledge of web and mobile UI technologies.
  • Eagerness to deeply understand customers and their needs.
  • Thorough knowledge of usability and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to succinctly explain your design decisions.
  • Enthusiasm for design craftsmanship and a commitment to stay inspired.
  • An online portfolio showcasing your design approach and impact, through highlighted work samples or case studies.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design / Human Factors or related field plus minimum of 6 years related work experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience building components and working with design systems in Figma.
