Title: Associate Scientist I

Location: Abbott Park, Illinois

Duration: 12 Month

Must be flexible to work 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, or 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

Shift assignments may change with two weeks' notice.

Saturday required 1-2 times per month: 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

Position Summary:

Support the testing and evaluation of new Transfusion Medicine products in a laboratory environment. Data generated from testing activities will contribute to regulatory submissions and FDA approval processes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory testing of new products, assays, and instrumentation.
• Execute studies according to established protocols and GLP requirements.
• Generate, document, and maintain accurate study data and records.
• Support data collection for FDA regulatory submissions.
• Complete laboratory documentation and reporting with accuracy and attention to detail.
• 75% laboratory work and 25% documentation/administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline required.
• 1-2 years of laboratory experience preferred; strong entry-level candidates will also be considered.
• Understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
• Ability to follow protocols and maintain accurate records.
• Adaptable, flexible, and able to learn quickly in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Preferred:

• Laboratory experience.
• Quality systems or quality-related experience.
• Familiarity with Abbott instruments.
• Experience supporting regulated environments or FDA-related studies.
