Working under the supervision of the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and testing of high-quality medical device systems and components. This role requires extensive travel and strong technical troubleshooting skills to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, configuration, and commissioning of medical device systems.
• Conduct hardware and software upgrades, troubleshooting, and repair of medical systems.
• Respond to service repair calls and perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Maintain complete and accurate service documentation for submission to the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Manage work-related travel and communication based on schedules set by the Field Service Manager.
• Prepare and submit timely and accurate business expense reports in accordance with company policy.
• Support company initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies, and operating procedures.
• Maintain professional and cooperative communication with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate’s degree or technical degree required (or equivalent relevant experience).
• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering preferred.

Experience & Skills

• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in mechanical assembly and working with tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prior experience in a medical device company is preferred.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve service issues.
• Technical writing skills are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working in enterprise or cross-division business environments preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong multitasking and time management abilities with the capability to meet deadlines.
• Must maintain regular and predictable attendance and be willing to work overtime when required.
