The Role

The Service Delivery Officer works within the Infrastructure Development Group, supporting the Service Delivery Group in delivering telecommunication services tailored to Australia’s academic and research sector. Your enthusiasm for delivering outcomes and understanding technology will be the cornerstone of your success in this role. Collaborating and learning from skilled engineers and technicians, you’ll contribute to expanding our optical network.

The Infrastructure Development Group is committed to providing high-quality network solutions that meet our customers’ requirements. With projects varying in size, complexity, and location, your dedication to continuous learning and application of new knowledge will be essential.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to think logically will be key your success in this role. Your ability to apply logical and numerical reasoning to tasks will be supported by on-the-job training and skills development opportunities.

Responsibilities

· Owning and completing network planning tasks including service design and delivery activities to deploy new fibre optical services.

· Maintaining internal data systems with a high focus on detail and accuracy.

· Production of project documentation and reporting including producing high quality customer hand over documents.

· Maintaining accurate fibre records and design documents for network construction projects.

· Compare construction work descriptions with network records to determine impacts that inform change management processes and network restoration activities.

· Other administration activities for the Service Delivery team as required.

· Utilising core AARNet technology to support the project tasks including Network Inventory Systems, MS Office, Visio, Jira, Confluence, Zoom, and other tools.

Expertise, experience & qualifications

· Australian citizen.

· Excellent computer skills and are comfortable using a broad range of office software applications including Word, Excel, and other applications.

· Solid logical, numerical, and reasoning skills.

· Confident working independently.

· Experience or interest in Telecommunications or Networking is welcome but not required.
