The Role: Accounts Payable Officer

The Accounts Payable Officer supports the accurate and efficient management of the expenditure across the organisation. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the role is responsible for a broad range of accounts payable activities including supplier management, invoice processing and payment preparation.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a sub-section of the accounts payable ledger, including:
  • Accounts Payable Inbox Management.
  • Maintaining Suppliers, including onboarding new Suppliers and verifying ABN, GST and bank details.
  • Processing supplier invoices, including three-way matching, coding and discrepancy resolution
  • Obtaining appropriate levels of approval.
  • Scheduling invoices for payment and ensuring payments are fully approved by management.
  • Foreign Currency purchases.
  • Receive and resolve queries from suppliers and/or staff, including reconciliation of statements.
  • Assist other finance team members of the department as and when required, including month end, year end and audit.

Skills, experience & qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience within an accounts payable function.
  • Demonstrated experience processing invoices, payments and reconciliations.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; TechnologyOne experience would be highly regarded.
  • Intermediate Excel/MS Office skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and mange tasks independently.
  • Telecommunications, Technology or asset-intensive industry experience would be highly regarded.
