The Role: Project Coordinator Telecommunications

AARNet is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Project Coordinator to join our Networks Construction team and build a rewarding career in telecommunications infrastructure.

In this role, you will support the delivery of new fibre network builds, customer connections, and network relocation projects. Working closely with construction and project teams, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to a high standard.

A sound understanding of telecommunications fibre networks will be highly regarded, along with knowledge of fibre splicing and testing, civil construction practices, and telecommunications infrastructure delivery methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and monitor project delivery to ensure key milestones, timelines, and outcomes are achieved.
• Coordinate and manage small splicing tasks from initiation through to successful completion.
• Assist in developing and maintaining forward works programs to support effective planning, coordination, and timely delivery.
• Facilitate delivery meetings, track actions, and coordinate follow-up to ensure agreed deliverables are completed within required timeframes.
• Track and monitor customer and community issues, ensuring timely follow-up, resolution, and appropriate reporting.
• Assist with project scheduling, planning, and contractor engagement.
• Support the development and coordination of project scopes, work packs, and final delivery documentation.
• Work closely with Telstra and NBN customer access network teams to ensure compliance with access requirements and applicable design and construction standards within their networks.

Skills, experience & qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, exercise initiative, and effectively prioritise and manage competing tasks, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, and coordination skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Telstra and nbn systems, processes, and customer access networks.
• Experience in project coordination or administration within telecommunications construction, civil, or asset maintenance environments is highly desirable.
• Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS), with a high level of awareness and focus on maintaining a safe working environment.
• Australian Citizenship is required for this role.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC).
