The Role
The Business Analyst is responsible for leading business analysis activities across complex technology, corporate, and security initiatives within a telecommunications environment. The role provides end to end analysis support across the project lifecycle, ensuring business needs are clearly understood, requirements are well defined, and solutions are aligned to operational, strategic, and delivery objectives.
Working across business and technical domains, the Business Analyst applies strong judgement, structured analysis, and a practical approach to initiatives that involve multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and organisational change. The role requires an experienced professional who can lead discovery, challenge assumptions, support decision making, and help shape solutions that are fit for purpose, achievable, and aligned to business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities across the full project lifecycle, from initiation through to delivery and closure
- Lead discovery and analysis for complex initiatives with broad business and operational impact
- Work with stakeholders to understand business needs, objectives, challenges, and improvement opportunities
- Capture, analyse, document, and manage business, functional, and non-functional requirements
- Translate business needs into clear requirements, process maps, use cases, user stories, or other agreed artefacts
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to support discovery, analysis, decision making, and solution development
- Analyse current and future state processes, identifying impacts, gaps, risks, dependencies, and opportunities
- Evaluate options and provide practical, well considered recommendations aligned to business objectives
- Work closely with project managers, delivery teams, architects, technical leads, and stakeholders to support solution design and delivery
- Ensure requirements are traceable, understood, and maintained throughout delivery
- Support governance, planning, and delivery through quality analysis, artefacts, and stakeholder inputs
- Contribute to business case development, supporting analysis, and delivery inputs
- Assess change impacts and support business readiness, testing, implementation, and transition activities
- Review proposed solutions to ensure alignment with business needs, delivery constraints, and intended outcomes
- Track actions, decisions, and requirements to support delivery clarity and accountability
Expertise, Experience and Qualifications
- 5+ years of business analysis experience in complex business and technology environments
- Demonstrated experience delivering business analysis across complex technology, corporate, or security initiatives
- Experience working within an enterprise PMO, project delivery, or governance environment, applying established frameworks, standards, and delivery controls
- Strong understanding of business analysis planning, requirements management, process analysis, stakeholder engagement, and solution design support
- Experience applying a range of delivery methodologies, including PRINCE2, Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches
- Demonstrated ability to lead discovery, define business needs, analyse impacts, and support the development of practical and well considered solutions
- Experience engaging with a broad range of stakeholders across business and technical teams, including facilitating workshops and supporting decision making
- Relevant business analysis, project delivery, or related qualifications, or equivalent practical experience
- Exposure to telecommunications or other large scale enterprise environments would be advantageous

- Experience using project and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar systems to track work from initiation through to delivery
