The Role: Head of Customer Solutions
The Head of Customer Solutions leads is responsible for driving pre-sales engineering, solution design, and post-sales functions to ensure that the solutions delivered to AARNet’s R&E customers are fit for purpose, competitively priced and commercially viable. This role leads a team of technical specialists who will consult with new and existing customers throughout their journey with AARNet, maximizing the value of our services for their unique environments.
The incumbent will have a strong background in customer engagement, as well as in the architecture, design, build and operation of enterprise networks in a customer-facing pre-sales and post-sales delivery role or internal high-engagement role. A proven track-record in leading teams of astute technical experts is a must.
The successful candidate will have a breadth of experience supporting on-campus network solutions, whilst also being able to tap into AARNet’s carrier grade network engineering expertise to provide comprehensive local, border edge and wide area network advice and solutions.
This role champions AARNet as the partner of choice for R&E customers, ensuring the organisation delivers exceptional value while securing sustainable growth in the sector.
Skills, experience & qualifications
Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Science, or Engineering (preferred);
· MBA will be highly regarded.
Experience & Skills
· At least five years’ experience in a role requiring a high degree of customer engagement
· Demonstrated leadership experience in driving results from technical expert teams
· Experience auditing, designing, procuring and implementing enterprise networks across a range of vendors
· Experience with data centre interconnectivity and design, and enterprise security is essential
· Understanding of industry standards in IT Networking, Data Centre, IT Security, Cloud services would be an advantage
· Experience in the telecommunications industry
· Experience in the Higher Education and Research sector is welcome but not essential
· Experience in a similar role will be highly regarded
