 What you’ll do

As a Senior Building Fire Safety Compliance Assessor, this role will see you responsible for conducting fire safety assessments and audits as well as building compliance assessments. Reporting to the Team Manager – Essential Safety Measures, and supported by a team of high-performing experts, your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting essential fire safety measure audits, facilitating systems interface tests and completing Annual Fire Safety Statements
  • Servicing clients who manage a range of property profiles including commercial, retail, warehouse and industrial facilities
  • Managing and delivering assigned projects to ensure they meet defined project objectives, timeframes, budgets and quality assurance standards
  • Acting as a subject matter expert and regularly communicating with key internal and external stakeholders to convey high-quality and accurate technical information
  • Contributing to the region’s pipeline of business to ensure revenue targets are achieved through proactive client relationships and project management

About you

You will hold Fire Safety Assessor accreditation with the Fire Protection Association of Australia and have proven experience in the auditing of essential fire safety measures, with a sound knowledge of AS1851, the BCA and legacy codes and standards applicable to building fire safety. 

Other experience and attributes you will need to ensure success in this role include:

  • You will have excellent interpersonal, project management, problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and focus on clients. 
  • You will possess the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with others as well as the skills to communicate and build strong business relationships. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering and/or fire technology, plus previous experience in a consulting role will be highly regarded.
