What is LiveHire?
LiveHire is a new way to Interview for jobs on the internet. It allows Employers and Candidates to interview in real-time via a webcam from any location. LiveHire is a tool made specifically to interview candidates for potential employment.
Why Use LiveHire?
Simply put it’s easy. It’s the next best thing to actually being in the same room as the candidate. Recruiters and Managers will be able to make quicker hiring decisions, decrease costs associated with flying and relocating candidates. You can save time and money on College recruiting while increasing the number of schools to recruit from. You can interview graduates from a handful of schools without leaving your desk. Why not use Skype, Messenger or other Video Chat sites?
LiveHire is specifically made for interviewing job candidates. There is a scheduling function where Employers can invite candidates to interview on certain dates and times. During the interview Employers can view a candidate’s resume, Whiteboard, File Share and even save notes from the interview to forward to their colleagues.
What is needed to do a Real-time Interview?
A WebCam, Flash and a broadband connection are all that is needed to use LiveHire. The site is PC and Mac Compatible and works with most Browsers. Employers and Candidates are advised to test their Video and audio prior to Interviewing.
How does it work for Employers?
After signing up for free, employers can invite a candidate they would like to interview to sign up. Once the candidate is registered with LiveHire, the employer can schedule an interview with our integrated calendar, forward a job description, application and Post jobs. On the agreed date and time of the interview, Employers and Candidates go to the interview room to start the interview. During that time Resume is visible, as is whiteboarding, file sharing and text chat. Once the interview is finished, Employer’s can save their notes for future reference and forward to other managers.
How does it work for Candidates?
Candidates can be invited to sign up by employers or sign up for free on their own. Once they receive an invitation to interview and accept the date and time suggested by the employer they are free to go to the Interview Room. There is no cost to Candidates.
What is the difference between this and Video resume sites?
Video resumes are short video‘s of applicants reading or reciting their resume, which is recorded and sent to employers to look at in the future. So called Video Interviewing sites allow the Employer to post several questions for the candidate to read, prepare and answer. These are not real interviews or true assessments of a candidate’s ability and candidacy for a specific job. LiveHire is interviewing in person over the internet.
I can’t hear during the interview
Make sure the audio on your PC is not muted. Increase the volume on your speakers, headset or in the interview room. Always test your audio before the interview.
I can’t see during the interview
Make sure that your video drive is configured and downloaded properly. There should be no other video applications or software running at the same time. It is suggested to test you Webcam for proper function prior to the interview.
